Student work at RPI

This is a combination of work made by students that screened at the RPI Student Film Festival and made in classes.

2023 RPI Student Film Festival

The RPI Student Film Festival is an emerging short film festival, providing the opportunity for university-level filmmakers to exhibit their work.

This film festival aims not only to showcase student film productions at Rensselaer but to bridge film with relevant social, science and intellectual issues. The festival features films across genres and forms from narrative film, documentary, experimental, animation, and beyond.

The RPI Student Film Festival is a collaboration between UPAC Cinema and the Arts Department. It is coordinated by Max Lopez (Chair of UPAC Cinema) and Professor Elizabeth Press (EP) who teaches TV and video production. Graphics for this festival were designed by Nicole DeSouza.

Student work: Ricardo Tovar Performance Documentation

The first assignment in the class, Writing and Directing for Video was to create a live four-camera switched shoot. PhD student Ricardo Tovar was invited to perform his prepared piano piece for the project.
